Myke Weiskopf is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and sound-artist based in Hollywood, CA. Raised in the Chicago suburbs, he developed a signature style influenced equally by the traditional new-wave and electronic pop of the era and his more esoteric personal influences, such as shortwave radio and the industrial architecture of the Midwest. Moving to Boston in 1995, he formed the electronic pop group Science Park in 1997 and issued three increasingly acclaimed albums: Science Park (1997), Futurama (1998), and Disinformation (2000). Science Park was nominated for the Boston Phoenix's Best New Local Act in 1998 and was featured on a Boston Globe cover story on Boston's best up-and-coming acts in 2000. Weiskopf disbanded Science Park the following year and retreated from pop music altogether, focusing instead on freelance writing, sound-art composition, and experimental radio broadcasting, including commissions for the American Repertory Theatre, Cambridge Community TV, and Harvard's radio station, WHRB 95.3 FM. He resurfaced in early 2007 with a commemorative anthology entitled 30: A Retrospective 1976-2006. His work was recently featured on National Public Radio.
Shortwavemusic is not a hi-fidelity, Westernized "world music" experience. I celebrate the unique sonic characteristics of shortwave and frequently post clips which are subject to the effects of propagation and interference. Not for the faint of heart!

Six years ago, I decided that a lifestyle based on bills, mortgages, retirement plans, and conspicuous consumption that depended on working a job for thirty more years or maybe even the rest of my life was not for me. Therefore I set out on a journey of becoming wealthy and skilled enough to never have to work for money again. Five years later I reached that goal.
The most important thing I have learned during my journey is that financial success is not about how much money one earns and spends, it’s about how much one spends and how much one keeps. In other words, it is about values and efficiency. For several years I have now lived at an expense level that is comparable to the poverty rate and even half the poverty rate for some of the years while saving the rest and eventually investing it. For this reason my savings rate has consistently been around 70%.
However, we do not live in squalor. I’ve found that apparent needs are often wants in disguise. By foregoing many of our wants, we can pay more for the things we need that really make a difference. Quality lasts a lot longer so I have made it a point to buy the best of the best. This means that over the years one accumulates a collection of really nice things without suffering the desire to upgrade, redecorate, or replace. This is better for the environment as well as it limits the consumption of resources.

Myxer is the best way to get the stuff you love to your phone. It’s the place where over 13.2 million people go to download from the Internet’s largest collection of ringtones, wallpapers and videos — over 587,189 pieces of content in all, and growing every minute! Almost all of the content is free, as we’re advertising supported. Getting your content is simple - we work with over 1,000 handsets in more than 90 countries.
You can also make your own ringtones from the music you already own. Myxer’s fun, free tools let you customize your ringtones and wallpapers using any part of the song or image that you want.
Myxer began three years ago with one goal in mind — to be the champion for indie bands and musicians that want their voice heard in the mobile space. Most independent artists were shut out of the ringtone and wallpaper market because they just weren’t big enough. Now with Myxer, over 18,000 bands have found a way to reach their fans and the enormous Myxer audience, with more joining all the time. We’re also moving beyond the music space to help all kinds of original content providers, consumer brands, and organizations to mobilize their content, so you’ll be seeing more unique, free content every day.

Many names have been given to the Renaissance trombone, including sackbut (literally "push-pull"), saqueboute, shakbusshes, seykebuds, sakbuds, shakebuttes, shagbutts, and even shagbolts. It is uncertain when the sackbut first appeared, but by 1500 it is illustrated and mentioned regularly.
